Quick Summary: How We Handle Your Baby's Data

  • You control it. You choose what to enter and can delete it at any time.
  • We never sell your data, and we never share it with advertisers.

  • We only work with a small set of vetted providers, listed below.

1. What We Collect

We collect the personal data you give us, including:

  • Parent name, email address, or phone number
  • Baby name and date of birth
  • Health and tracking logs (feeds, sleep, nappies, vaccines, milestones)
  • Memories and photos you save
  • Financial inputs you enter into budgeting and savings tools
  • Mood check-in and screening responses
  • Posts, comments, and messages in The Village

2. Why We Collect It

We use this data to provide personalised guidance, reminders, and insights, to keep your account and shared profiles in sync, to moderate The Village for safety, and to improve the app. We do not use your baby's health data for advertising.

3. Children's Data (POPIA and COPPA)

BeasyBaby is designed for parents and legal guardians, not for children. All child data in the app is entered by a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from minors. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

4. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers. Data is processed by a small set of vetted providers under data processing agreements:

  • Supabase (database, authentication, and storage)
  • Google Gemini via a managed AI gateway (Eezie conversations and safety moderation)
  • Google Maps (the Nearby Help screen)
  • PostHog (product analytics)
  • Paystack (payments and subscriptions)

Baby health and tracking data is linked to your account only and is never shared without your explicit consent.

5. Your Rights (POPIA and GDPR)

You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your data, or withdraw consent, at any time. Use Settings, Account & Data in the app to export a full copy of your data, or visit our Data Deletion Request page, or email us at support@beasybaby.co.za.

6. Data Retention

When you request account deletion, your account is deactivated and you have a 48-hour recovery window during which you can log back in to restore it. After 48 hours, deletion is permanent and your personal data is erased, except for financial records we are required by law to retain.

7. Security

We encrypt data in transit and at rest, restrict access to a need-to-know basis, and use row-level access controls so each family can only see its own data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.

8. International Users

BeasyBaby is built in South Africa for South African families. If you use the app from outside South Africa, your data may be processed in other countries where our providers operate. Where the EU GDPR applies, we honour GDPR rights in addition to POPIA.
